Shanghai Forum

The Shanghai Forum is an annual international forum hosted by our partner university, Fudan University in China. This year’s theme will be on sustainability, post-pandemic development and Asia. It will take place in Shanghai and virtually on Oct. 29-31, 2021 (Beijing Time), with simultaneous translation and is free and open to international registration.

Keynote opening session speakers include renowned economist Jeffrey Sachs from Columbia University, Rector Svein Stolen from the University of Oslo and senior diplomats Kishore Mahbubani from Singapore and Xu Bu from China.

Twelve roundtable topics under three overarching theme will be addressed at the 2021 forum include:

  • Science and technology innovation, including data regulation and digital finance
  • Economics and finance, including green finance, financial services, regional economic integration and digital currencies
  • Global governance, including BRICS cooperation, U.S.-China relations, South China Sea dispute, China-Latin America dialogue
